This summer, I created a newsletter for a client who has provided drug and alcohol treatment in the Portland metropolitan area for more than three decades. He is partnering with one of Oregon’s largest municipal courts in a program for repeat DUII offenders.
Active for more than three years now, the program provides hope and an alternative to a jail sentence for a small percentage of more than about 600 drunk drivers that appear before the court each and every year.
Requirements for regular court appearances, weekly meetings with a case worker, surprise police visits, required AA attendance, detection bracelets, random urinalysis and documentation of progress don’t leave a lot of room for relapse, but of course, there are no guarantees of long-term recovery.
My client is thrilled to be part of this innovative collaboration, and he’s going to let the Portland metropolitan know all about it. As for me, I’m gonna do my best work to help him spread the word far and wide.
How are you spreading the word about the good things you do? How will they know how much you can help if you don’t tell them?
